SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

YMCA camp counselors serve the families of our community with programs and services tailored to fit the needs of those we reach. Three overarching goals drive our work: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Come join our team and make a difference! This summer, we are offering 3 types of Camp Counselor positions, with multiple people working in each category:

Explorers: 

At Camp K, Explorers enjoy the traditional day camp setting. Each “pod” will consist of ratios of 5 campers to 1 staff person. Explorers participate in arts & crafts, hiking & nature exploration, sports, and swimming. Additional activities will be created based on their staff for a block of Counselor-Led Activities!

Specialty Camps

Must be able to lead all camps. A lifeguard certification is preferred, but not mandatory-- trainings can happen at Camp K upon your arrival. Staff working with specialty camps are scheduled based on need & interest in subject matter. Camps change weekly, as would staff schedules. 

Adventure Camps

Staff working with adventure camps are scheduled based on need & interest in subject matter. Additional trainings will be made available for these staff at no cost, as they will need certifications such as lifeguarding, ropes course training, archery, and tripping in order to lead programs safely and effectively. Camps change weekly, as would staff schedules. 

Camp Medical Staff

This position involves being on-site throughout the entire camp day and being responsible for medication distribution, aiding staff/campers in first aid situations, and heading up any medical emergency that may arise. Must be one of the following to qualify: WFR, RN, EMT
