Lenore Imhof

Lenore is starting her third season as an assistant volunteer swim coach with the BRYMCA Dolphin Swim Team and is extremely thankful that the Boothbay Region has such an amazing pool facility and swimming community.

Lenore is a lifelong competitive swimmer having competed in summer swim leagues (starting at age 4), YWCA, USA Swimming, high school swimming, NCAA Division I collegiate swimming and US masters.   Lenore brings over four decades of coaching experience from the novice and recreational swimmer to the elite age group swimmer, high school swimmer and collegiate swimmer.

Lenore is certified as a Water Safety Instructor.  Lenore started her coaching career as Head Coach of a competitive summer swim team comprised of 110 swimmers ages 5 to 17 from the novice to the elite swimmer before her freshman year of college, and has not tired from her goal of guaranteeing that all young people have the opportunity to learn to swim and to develop their swimming skills for recreational as well as competitive purposes.

Lenore started a high school boys and girls swim team at her alma mater in Bloomfield, NJ where she taught and advised students, and for over 21 years coached her beloved team growing it into a competitive NJSIAA swim team with swimmers finishing in the NJ State Finals and signing with colleges.

She maintains close ties to her high school swim team while serving as an advisor.  Lenore started the grades 7 thru 12 girls swim team at Columbia Grammar and Prep School in New York City while a middle school teacher.  Lenore also served as Assistant Women's Swim Coach at Columbia College while a graduate student.  Lenore is a New Jersey and Maine certified educator grades K - 12 and has her Master of Art in teaching and master's in educational administration.

Lenore is a licensed USCF Category 2 Cyclist, a member of the USA Triathlon and a US Masters Association member.   When not swimming or coaching or riding her bike or raising money for worthy causes, she can be found hiking with her canine buddies and boating with her supportive husband or taking in an amazing performance at the Boothbay Opera House.  She remains ever thankful to her parents and YWCA and collegiate coaches for instilling in her a commitment to a lifelong sport that promotes a healthy mind and body! We look forward to you joining us in the pool this season.  You will not be disappointed.
